Actor Jimmi Harkishin called Coombe Abbey home for an evening and was impressed with the beauty of the former royal residence. Known to millions as shopkeeper Dev Alahan in the soap, the actor stayed at the leading Brinklow-based venue after attending an event at Coventry Transport Museum. June Picken, sales director at Coombe Abbey, was pleased to welcome the special guest and showcase the uniqueness of the hotel. “It was an absolute pleasure to have Jimmi stay in the hotel,” June said. “He stayed in the Lindley Suite and joked that it was the size of his house. “He invited myself, sales manager Nicola Felton, and Clive Skelhon from Coventry Transport Museum to join him for breakfast and we all enjoyed hearing about the 17 years he has spent on the set of Coronation Street. “Jimmi said that he felt very spoilt and was very complimentary about the hotel and was extremely interested about the history of the building.” The Coronation Street star may have been a celebrity guest, but Coombe Abbey endeavours to make everyone who comes through the doors feel special. June Picken added: “Whether it is a well-known face or a member of the public we aim to make sure that a stay at Coombe Abbey is a real treat for all.” For further information about Coombe Abbey Hotel or to book, visit www.coombeabbey.com or call 024 7645 0450.
