Courtesy of Dr Pepper Development The description of development as described in the planning statement: “Demolition of existing buildings and erection of buildings of 4 to 9 storeys for student residential accommodation (Sui Generis) comprising 801 beds (in clusters and studio rooms), together with ancillary support facilities, car and cycle parking, improvements to the public realm and pedestrian crossing of Lower Ford Street, landscaping and associated works” The design comprises 801 bedrooms in a mixture of clusters and studios within purpose built student accommodation units which will be designed with a common reception. The buildings are designed with ensuite bedrooms serving 5 to 12 bed clusters with a kitchen living area. The reception and common room area will face out towards the roundabout to minimise disruption to residential units. This hub area will provide social and working spaces as well as facilities such as laundry and parcel collection.
